FAQs

How much does designing a custom piece cost?

People usually think that a custom piece of jewelry costs a lot of money. For the design process, we typically charge $150-$400 and $200 for gold and silver castings. The rest of the price would come from any precious stones like diamonds or gemstones, used in the design.

How long does it take to create a custom piece of jewelry?

The amount of time varies from 2-3 weeks depending on how quickly your design is created and approved. Once we have your design, it is about 2-3 days to build and show you the Computer Aided Design(CAD) model. Once you approve the CAD model, it is about 1-2 days to make a 3D wax model. Then it takes about 2 days to cast and finish the product.

Can we use your metal and/or stones?

Metal is a bit tricky sometimes but most of the time, “Yes.”  We can also use any of your stones or gemstones. We do charge a casting fee for working with your metal.

How is it beneficial to buy from a local jeweler?

When purchasing jewelry from a local jeweler, you can be sure that you are getting the true value for your money. Local jewelers provide you more personalized services because they intend to build a legacy of integrity & trust with their customers. Since local jewelers intend to build personal relations with their customers, they care enough to deal in only certified & best quality diamonds & jewelry. A local jeweler can better understand your taste & style and keeps it in mind when he goes on buying trips. Also, you can expect an honest professional advice and satisfactory attention combined with before and after sale services only from a local jeweler.

What can I do with my old jewelry?

If you have old jewelry lying around that you aren’t wearing, let’s use it to make a custom piece! We can repurpose all of your precious gemstones and diamonds. We can use the gold or metal with a finish fee, but it is not recommended. We can offer credit for it and that will count toward your new piece. If you prefer to keep the gold but use the stones, we will carefully remove all stones and return the gold to you.

What is the difference between the shape and the cut of a diamond?

The shape of the diamond is often confused with the cut. Some think of cut as the shape or outline of the diamond, rather than the arrangement of facets needed to create an attractive face-up appearance. Round is the shape used in most diamond jewelry. All other outlines are known as fancy shapes. Examples of traditional fancy shapes include the marquise, pear and oval. Cushion, Princess and a variety of others are also gaining popularity in diamond jewelry. Choose the shape that you like based on your style and you cannot go wrong.

What is the most important thing to remember when buying a diamond?

When you go out to buy a sparkling diamond, you must consider 4Cs of diamonds – Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat weight, as a base for your buying decision. These 4Cs will help you to choose the best diamonds on the same criteria on which jewelers use to select them.
